Juding Criteria

Judging Criteria

We are honoured to invite a distinguished panel of violin teachers and performers from around the world to serve on the jury. The chairperson of the panel is the renowned Professor Peter Shixiang Zhang, with Australian virtuoso Charmian Gadd OAM as the Artistic Director. The jury panel consists of esteemed professors from music conservatories, experienced violin teachers, and top-tier violin instructors. Each age group will be evaluated by a panel of 3-5 jurors who will provide detailed reviews of the competition videos, along with professional feedback and a comprehensive assessment report for each participant.

In each age group, Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Commemorative awards will be presented. There is no fixed award ratio, and the evaluation will be based entirely on the actual artistic level of the participants. The judges will assess both technical aspects, such as pitch accuracy, rhythm, and tone quality, as well as artistic expression, stage presence, and overall performance. The primary focus will be on the participant's overall performance and artistic impact.

All participants must perform with the official piano accompaniment video or live piano accompaniment (with the exception of unaccompanied pieces). Please note that no violin parts should appear in the accompaniment video. Videos that do not meet the requirements will not be considered for final scoring, though participants will still receive a certificate of participation as encouragement.

After each jury member independently reviews the videos, the organizing committee will compile the results, and the final award determination will be based on the majority of the judges' evaluations.

All Gold Award winners' instructors will receive the "Outstanding Teacher Award."
