Welcome to the Sixth International Zhang Violin Competition
A world-renowned professional violin competition, the Zhang Violin Competition has proudly hosted 16 successful editions, bringing together talented young musicians from around the world. Embracing the digital age, the competition has evolved into an innovative hybrid model, seemingly integrating online and offline participation since its 6th edition.
At the heart of this transformation is Professor Peter Shixiang Zhang, a visionary in violin education with over 70 years of expertise. His groundbreaking digital score blends traditional teaching excellence with modern technology, offering a systematic and scientifically designed practice framework. This revolutionary resource has set a new benchmark for violin education, making high-quality learning accessible to students worldwide.
As the sixth online global competition, we are committed to building a high-level international exchange platform, deeply promoting this innovative digital violin teaching resource, and comprehensively enhancing the professionalism and modernization of violin education. Through the competition, we aim to:
- Provide all participating students with an international exchange platform, enabling them to receive professional evaluations and constructive advice from outstanding violin teachers worldwide;
- Promote a deep understanding and efficient application of multimedia teaching resources among global violin teachers, optimizing teaching models and improving teaching quality;
- Guide violin students to master scientific practice methods, enhance learning efficiency, and cultivate self-learning abilities;
- Drive the organic integration of traditional teaching with modern technology, exploring new pathways in violin education;
- Establish a global sharing mechanism for high-quality teaching resources, promoting educational equity and benefiting a broader learning community.
Professor Peter Shixiang Zhang
Chair of Jury Panel
Professor Zhang Shixiang is a distinguished violin educator of international acclaim. A graduate of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, he served on its faculty for nearly four decades until his retirement in 1995. Renowned for his pioneering teaching methods, he has nurtured numerous world-class violinists and translated several seminal violin works, significantly advancing violin education in China.
Charmian Gadd OAM
Artistic Director
Charmian Gadd OAM is an internationally acclaimed violinist and violist who has performed as a soloist with prestigious orchestras, including the Halle, Vienna Radio, Hong Kong, and BBC orchestras. She has collaborated with legendary conductors such as Yehudi Menuhin and Sir Neville Marriner.
Jury Panel
The jury will be composed of outstanding violin teachers and performers from around the world. The panel will review and provide evaluation reports on the performance videos of assigned groups. These evaluation reports will be made available to all participants and their teachers for reference.

Competition Registration Period: 20th February, 2025 - 15th May, 2025
Competition Results Announcement: 1st June 2025
Sydney Award Ceremony Concert: 19th July, 2025 (tentative)
Sydney Masterclasses and Activities: 12th -19th July, 2025 (tentative, specific events to be confirmed)
This year's competition will host a series of events, masterclasses, and the award ceremony concert in Sydney in July 2025. All participants are welcome to register for these activities. Gold Award recipients will have the opportunity to be invited to perform as soloists at the award ceremony concert or participate in masterclasses. The detailed schedule will be announced soon.
Sydney Awards Concert will be hold at Chatswood Concourse.

• 新会员将获得为期一年的使用期,可访问网站提供的分步视频教学资源以及钢琴伴奏视频
我们建议有意参赛的学生尽早完成会员注册,使用平台提供的分步学习资源以及钢琴伴奏,为比赛做好最佳准备。
报名步骤和费用
• 登录网站zhangviolin.org(英文站)或zviolin.cn(中文站)的在线教学中心,点击比赛报名专区。
• 浏览并选择相应的教学曲集和曲目,完成在线报名表格填写。
• 通过安全支付系统完成报名缴费,费用为300人民币。缴费后一律不予退还。
• 缴费成功后,系统将自动发送确认邮件至注册邮箱。
• 使用网站提供的视频学习资源和钢琴伴奏视频进行赛前准备。
• 按照平台提供的视频录制指南准备参赛视频,并在5月15号(北京时间)前通过在线教学中心比赛报名专区上传视频。
• 在5月15号之前可免费更改参赛曲目一次,并可多次上传视频,评审以最后一次视频为准。

本赛事根据参赛者年龄和发展设计组别如下:

分组将根据报名系统自动识别参赛者年龄,组委会将保留根据实际报名人数今昔组别微调的权利。

奖项设置
参赛选手须在5月15日前将演奏视频上传至网站在线教学中心比赛专区。所提交的视频必须专为本次比赛录制,不得包含其他小提琴演奏的声音,不得进行任何剪辑,否则将被取消参赛资格。
录制时,参赛者需面向镜头,视频画面应清晰展现选手的左右手动作及站姿,全身入境为佳。如使用网站提供的钢琴伴奏,必须使用纯钢琴伴奏音频文件,不得含有他人的小提琴演奏。视频必须为参赛者本人真实演奏,如发现视频中含有其他人的小提琴演奏声音,该作品将不计入评分,仅可获得参赛证书。
参赛者可使用手机或摄像机进行录制,建议上传MP4格式的视频文件,大小不超过300M(推荐100M – 200M)。参赛者可登录在线教学中心,进入报名页面,点击上传文件按钮提交视频。视频上传后,服务器需进行人工审核,家长可稍后重新登录查看视频。如未能正常回放,请重新上传。
录像要求
- 录制时,请将手机或相机固定在支架上,避免晃动。
- 背景应尽量简洁,避免逆光,勿对着窗户拍摄。
- 摄像机高度应与小提琴保持水平,避免过高或过低。
- 请使用横屏拍摄,不要竖拍。
- 确保运弓方向面向摄像机镜头,使评委能清晰观察弓法和手势。
- 伴奏音量适中,避免过轻或过响,确保小提琴演奏清晰可辨。
- 请调整摄像机角度,使背景的水平和垂直线条保持平衡,避免画面歪斜。
